About me

July 7, 2008

M and call Jorge Ledo. In recent years I have dedicated myself to train as a researcher in various fields related to history and medieval and Renaissance culture. My training has led me to go increasingly interested in a more evident from the political thought of the period and the ways they have to interfere in all kinds of textual tradition. I aspire to know something about the European Renaissance, mainly Spain, Italy and France, neo-Latin literature and little by little I've been interested and participating in various international research projects related to the History of Philosophy, Literature or Ideas mainly from the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries.

After completing my studies in Hispanic Philology at the Universidade da Coruña (2002), I moved to the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona to pursue graduate studies in Theory of Literature and Comparative Literature, focusing primarily on the Renaissance poetic dialogue. I received my Diploma of Advanced Studies ( DEA ), the Research Aptitude and my Masters in 2005. In summer 2009 I finished my PhD ("Introduction to the study of dialogue and conversation in the European Renaissance") at the University of Aberdeen ( Centre for Modern Thought ), directed by Alberto Moreiras and with the support of an impressive group of intellectuals . The thesis was defended and approved on September 9, 2009.

I am currently Visiting Assistant Professor in the Department of Modern Languages at the University of Michigan.

If you are interested, you can find a list of my publications, with links to the pdf version or html-adaptation here .

T he creation of this site is responding to an old idea I've tried several times to materialize through various platforms. Finally, with my own server and WordPress , I found the most convenient to create a sort of notebook with comments on my fields of study, issues and resources for research, brief entries on authors or books that interest me, well a repository of my publications. The idea is simple: to spread in the most simple and affordable aspects of research rarely resonate beyond journals and, in time, refer to the fields of new technologies, applied to my field, they rarely spread in Castilian. If I get someone not familiar with the matter of interest and regularly visit this place, work has taken me not have been in vain.

On this page, you should simply be a reference for the curious reader, who may use my email-j [at] jorgeledo.net-to make me your suggestions for topics you would like to see addressed in the blog. In the best of my ability, try to be all taken care of.
